Trade agreements between the EU and non-EU countries
The EU has concluded agreements with a number of non-EU countries to facilitate trade. Some of these agreements affect the possibility of importing food from the countries concerned and official controls.
Trade with the following countries is considered as intra-EU trade
- Norway and Iceland
- Switzerland
- Liechtenstein
Certain food of animal origin from the following countries are exempt from border control requirements
- Faeroe Islands
Agreements with the following countries affect the frequency of certain controls and/or the control fees
- Canada
- Chile
- New Zealand
